Methodology

The Survey, How It Was Done - The third Reader’s Digest Trusted Hospital survey features an exhaustive list of private hospitals from across seven Indian cities and in 15 specializations.

The survey, conducted by Ipsos Group S.A., one of the world’s leading research groups, had three major modules. The respondents chosen were decision makers in their families, most of them between 31–65 years. They were asked to rate the hospitals (vetted by the RD team and healthcare experts) based on several parameters. The aim was to identify the most trusted hospitals and the factors driving that trust, while also assessing awareness and familiarity with these facilities.

To that end, we created a single trust index for each hospital, and this helped us arrive at the final ranking. Each of the ‘trust parameters’ was given due weightage, and the scores given to each hospital were calculated. By aggregating the scores accorded by each respondent, the average rating for each hospital was determined.

Objective 1

To enlist the most Trusted Hospitals in the country

Objective 2

To understand the parameters driving this ‘trust’

The ranking of hospitals can be arrived at by creating a single number trust index for each hospital as below –

  • Step 1: Determining the weightage of each driver of trust

Using driver analysis, we will assign the regression coefficient as the weightage for each parameter

  • Step 2: Calculating the weighted score for each hospital for each respondent

    Score for hospital 1 = W1*S1 + W2*S2 + W3*S3 + ……………….Wn*Sn

  • Step 3: Determining the ranking:

Arriving at the average rating for each hospital after aggregating scores given to the hospital by each respondent
